bb Attachments Plugin by _ck_ fixed for bbPress 1.0

Many people come to me and ask for fixing bb Attachments plugin by _ck_ to be compatible with bbPress 1.0. Unfortunately ck has stopped developing plugins, nor supporting the existing ones – the reason can be found on her website. So, today I am unofficially releasing a fixed version of bb Attachments plugin.

Hi, I’m still having the same issues as the original version

      http://www.cell-systems.net/forums/topic/enzyme-11-beta/page/3

If you could take a look there if you have the time

      • IDgcard.txt (0.2 KB, 17 downloads) 37 minutes old [x]
      • error_install_enzyme1.1beta2.txt (45.1 KB, 9 downloads) 37 minutes old [x]

I can not save any attachments to my desktop, and some attachments fail to opena t all. This issue was/is also presant in the _CK_ 0.27 version. I hope you can help me out with this as i really need such a plugin for my website and error reporting functionality (a screenshot tells more than a 28371209837 words :) )

      Thanks in advance,

That’s really cool, congratulations! I just hit a page rank of 4 on my site too. I think a big part of it is just putting out content, and being around for a long time.

buddy.. I have a doubt.. How is this Page Rank calculated? I mean on what search result is valuated here? Any idea?

          • Gautam 10:21 pm on January 17, 2010 Permalink | Reply

I think it is calculated on the basis of how many high-ranking websites are linking to your website. That’s also called link juice or PR juice.

            • Mr.JOSE 10:37 pm on January 17, 2010 Permalink

Ohh.. Thats cool… So am pointed by “those high rated sites” er? … hmmm kk… let me hope more of them continue this.. ;)

      Hi Gautam,

Nice what about next update? Guess either it is in march 2010 or april 2010?

Based on the last update it should be in march ending.

Do you feel that still backlinks from social networking sites counting?

      Best Regards
      Mano

      • Gautam 2:51 pm on March 6, 2010 Permalink | Reply

It is actually not periodical. Sometimes the update just comes after a week or sometimes takes many months.

bbPress will be a WordPress Plugin

So it is decided I guess, bbPress will finally be a WordPress plugin, most probably a canonical plugin. In the IRC meetup on 30 December ’09, Matt said that bbPress will surely become a WordPress plugin – not so soon, maybe after the release of bbPress 1.2 or so. (More …)

That’s really great to hear. I’ve been holding off on putting up a forum on my site because I don’t want to have 2 software packages to maintain (WordPress and forum software) so it will be really nice when it is a plugin.
I’m looking forward to Canonical plugins too, and it will be great to see bbpress as a canonical plugin.
So many fun things coming up in 2010 for WordPress!

    • Daniel Juhl Mogensen 7:43 pm on January 15, 2010 Permalink | Reply

I don’t really know what to think about this.. I liked the idea of bbPress being a standalone software package, which could be integrated into already existing websites, portals and more, which doesn’t use WordPress. After this change, all these will have to install WordPress, right?

      • Gautam 8:07 pm on January 15, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Yup, you’ll have to install WordPress first and then bbPress (which will be a canonical plugin). It wouldn’t matter a lot as now plugin can be installed in a few clicks.

      Hi,

have you thought porting this plugin to FlatPress or developed to the same project? it’s a blog without a database very light with great acceptance in the future.

      thanks

      Hi Gautam :)

I need to ask something about this plugin. Is it possible to have the share-bar only appear in the first post of each topic? I see there’s an option for displaying it on the first post, but I don’t know if it makes it *only* for that post.

Thanks for your awesomely great plugins. :)

    • Michael R 2:20 pm on January 27, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Not to worry – I see it does it automaticlly now.

Thanks for this plugin – it’s just awesome! :)
